Wal-Mart is suspiciously cozy with their "independent" product safety testing labs, Consumer Testing Laboratories (CTL) -- from suspicious land transfers, to conveniently overlooking CTL's disturbing lack industry-standard laboratory accreditations.

In fact, the relationship is so cozy that in a Wal-Mart newsletter, CTL's current president described the arrangement as "independent in-house testing." Independent in-house testing?

On top of all this, CTL has also been discovered to only recently have obtained the industry-standard laboratory accreditations. Scary stuff when you consider these are the people entrusted with making sure Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world, is selling save products.
