Wal-Mart has been trying to move into Chicago for years—but despite all of its efforts to expand into large metropolitan areas, Wal-Mart only has been allowed to build one store on Chicago’s West Side.

That may soon change. An article in Friday’s Chicago Sun-Times revealed that city Planning and Development Commissioner Arnold Randall is trying to broker an agreement between labor unions and big box stores for a Wal-Mart wage and benefits package.
